I am Loukas Mainas, an industrial designer passionate for watches. During the past twenty years I have spent countless hours with watchmakers, challenging myself to be the first to create the first hand-made, precious Greek watch.
I am also passionate with the design of jewelry.
In 2002, my girlfriend Anna suggested that I bring my two passions together. This is the beginning of my story and how «LouAnn» was born.
In April 2004, after 2 years of sketching, drawing, researching, procuring and learning the art of watchmaking, my first prototype was working at 28.800 beats per hour. Only one month later the first «LouAnn» was sold.
This first model was called «LouAnn Transparent».
«LouAnn Transparent» was the first luxury Greek watch. Entirely hand-made, with precious stones, in solid 18K gold in three separate tones to choose from (white, pink, gold), with rhodium plated Swiss automatic mechanical movement ETA 2824-2, specially made for «LouAnn». Open back and screw down crown, sapphire crystal front and back, golden dial, it is fitted with a hand-made alligator strap or hand-made bracelet at the same color as the case. It is water resistant up to 5Atm. From the tone of the gold, the amount and type of precious stones, the insignia, the details of screws and dials, the type and color of the band, each model is entirely bespoke.
Following the success of the «LouAnn Transparent» and after heavy demand from Clients, in November 2006 I created the second model: the «LouAnn Balancier».
The «LouAnn Balancier» is as precious as the Transparent. Hand-made, with precious stones, in solid 18K gold in two-tone combinations to choose from (white, pink, gold), with a Swiss automatic skeleton ETA 2892A2 or with non-skeleton with closed dial. Carries a hand-made alligator watchband. Water resistant. From the color of the gold, the amount and type of precious stones, the insignia, the details of the screws, the type and color of the band, each model is entirely bespoke.
Each «LouAnn» is delivered in 6-12 weeks depending on the model and guaranteed for 2 years.
My aim is offer our Clients a new perspective for viewing time. For us at «LouAnn», a watch is an element of luxury before anything else.
